From Monday to Wednesday this week, the enforcers have apprehended 62 erring drivers for various violations such as operating a colorum vehicle, the failure to wear seatbelts and failure to carry license and registration papers. Meanwhile, 7 colorum vehicles were impounded at the regional office, 3 multicab jeepneys without franchise, an out of line van, and 3 Tourist Vans operating as UV Express.
The intensified drive coincided with the OPLAN Ligtas Biyahe: Semana Santa 2018 campaign of the Department of Transportation, which started last March 24 and will end on April 5, 2018.
LTO district offices regionwide have established motorist assistance centers and conducted motor vehicle inspections in public terminals, as well as road side inspections. This is to ensure that only road worthy vehicles and those with proper documentations can ply the roads and highways in the region.
