◘ The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is the primary policy, planning, programming, coordinating, implementing and administrative entity of the executive branch of the government on the promotion, development and regulation of a dependable and coordinated network of transportation and communications systems, as well as in the fast, safe, efficient and reliable transportation and communications services

An Act creating the Department of Information and Communications Technology, defining its Powers and Functions, Appropriating Funds therefor, and for other purposes.

    All operating units of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) with functions and responsibilities dealing with communications are abolished, and their power and functions, applicable funds and appropriations, records, equipment, property, and personnel transferred to the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and renaming DOTC to Department of Transportation.
